I'm not applying for admin any time soon, but I was wondering do admins have to play on multiple servers to become admin? I've seen admins say abstain because they don't know that person well, or haven't seen them.

It's highly in your favor to play the other servers to get to know the other people in the community. This doesn't favor in just admins, but we have a highly active regular player basis just as well. It's in your favor to play on more of our servers just to get your name out there. So while it's not required, it's highly recommended.

While it is not required to, it is greatly encouraged so it will let other admins see what kind of player you are! More servers = more chances for admins to see if you are capable being admin.

It's recommended to play on a couple servers, but at the same time you can also get to know people by posting on the forums and joining teamspeak at times. You don't really have to heavily play on the other servers, but more so join at times to show that you are interested in the community and getting to know people. We don't need you spreading lies amongst the community, this good man is asking if he should play other servers and you are trying to infect him with TTT. DO YOU KNOW WHO PLAYS TTT, @R3TROATTACK DOES. SPARE HIM

You don't need to play on multiple servers, but if you don't, you should definitely be active on the forums and maybe Teamspeak.

 

A great example of this is if a Casual regular applied for admin, because most of them only play on Casual. They won't get the support of the community unless they interact with them somehow, which would be best accomplished via forums.

You must often be in the forum cause is where all the admins usually hangs out. You can also play on servers to interact better with admins and stuff. It depends.

Everyone above has talked about getting to know people and being recognised with good admin capabilities. YES this is an important aspect.

 

Although I'm just saying, it is preferable to be on multiple servers to increase your admin abilities not just recognition among the community. If you happen to be the only one in CB or you get a private message asking you to deal with a rule breaker it is best for us if you could respond to as many servers as possible. Any server could have any rule breaker at any time, the more diverse you are, the more helpful you may be. (yes this indeed helps people to notice you too)

i'd say stick to the larger servers. Forum and teamspeak usage is also very important - if you are active (with quality posts) on the forum then we will more easily recognize you on the server.
