We did make a change to the quality after CaH. It supposedly was better after that. Pretty much I was compressing the res 3X which did well with YT streams, we changed it to 2X which did it better. I didn't notice too much lag after that change, so I may only up it 1.5X at the most cause at that point I think it will cause issues for me playing.

So this whole event was to do some testing for me to do Extra Life in November. We were able to do some good tests and I think we worked out most of the streaming bugs that would have been bad for viewers. What is Extra Life? Its a big fundraiser for Children's Hospitals and on November 5th they do a big game day where lots of people play and stream for 24 hours. So I plan to participate in it this year. Due to my schedule this last weekend was the last chance I had to do some streaming tests before the event. When we get closer to the event, I'll post more details on what is going on and ask for people to help out. So moving on from here I'll probably start periodically stream games I'm playing but not really announce them. If you want to know when I am doing such things it would probably be good to follow me on twitch (SGSpikedRocker). I'll be streaming games like Rocket League, Elite Dangerous, League of Legends, Overwatch and whatever else I'll be playing. I won't do any kind of streaming schedule or anything as its pretty much when I got time after work and when I'm not doing stuff with my kid on the weekends. So again stay tuned for my Extra Life stuff in the coming months.

Last time we did JackBox Party stuff we found it pretty difficult as they had to watch the stream to play and the stream is pretty delayed. We did find a free to play version that was kind of better but the clues were crap.

Well while you have a point, we have specifically chosen the way we do our giveaways to reward our current members. Not to discourage ways to get new people, but honestly I don't want to "bait" people into joining this place in the hopes of winning something. And also, doing such things, rarely keeps people around. I've seen both online and real world proof of this concept and really its not a useful way to attract people.

Yeah I finally got GTA 5 yesterday on a pretty good sale. So if we get a good group to show me how that all works that would be cool. Dead By Daylight would be one of those games where we get a lul in people, like around dinner time or something.

Ladies and Gents, Back by popular request! I'll be hosting a gaming marathon this weekend. I'll start around 1 or 2 PM ET on Saturday and go until who knows. Games that I will be playing: Rocket League Overwatch Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes! Cards Against Humanity Games that I would be open to playing: Dead by Daylight RWBY: Grimm Eclipse Monopoly GTA 5 The top list of games that I know a lot of people will enjoy either playing or watching being played. The bottom list is games that I have downloaded and can play if others want to. I'm not really up to playing CS:GO as most of us play that pretty regular. I do have League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm but I'd have to update them so if anyone wants me to add them to the list just let me know to update my game. If there's something that I've not listed, please let me know and I'll see if I can accommodate. Obviously, some games have player limits and we can't all play at the same time. We'll try to keep people rotating in and out. Games like RL and OW we'll play in hour or so blocks so we can keep things fresh and get some people rotated in. Games like Keep Talking, we can rotate people really easily. Monopoly would probably be a game to play when/if we get a few people around, that game can take up to 2 hours to complete. I will be streaming this event again so if you aren't playing you can watch. We'll also be on TS. If you have any ideas for this just post them up and we'll see what we can do!

That is the plan. I just only got so far into doing what I was working on. There's a whole other thing that is going to be a part of that. Speaking of, I've only done the first 3 pages of those questions. Any forum moderator wants to help can set the prefix's for the other 20 something pages of rules stuff that would be great.

The search function that is built into the forums really is lackluster and to improve it would be a waste of time as forum updates come we'd have to redo it. However, what you were asking for to make things easier to find, that is my goal that I eluded to. I just don't have fully fleshed out examples of what it will be when I do finish. It may be a bit of a 2 part process where I get the bare bones in place and then spend some extra time getting it full featured.

Recently a lot of questions were being asked mostly pertaining to rules in a specific server. We have a dedicated section for Rules Discussions. I have moved the most recent questions to that section to be answered there. Reasoning behind this as the questions typically were asking for a clarification or an interpretation on a rule. While yes these were questions, they often became discussions on rules themselves. So I have decided to move them and post this notice regarding the organization of these threads. In the next few days I'll be looking to modify/clean up these sections, in addition making things a bit easier to people to find answers to any types of questions they have.

We've never had to use nor will we ever use ads to fund anything. One of the big reasons is we've never been that much of a financial hurt for a long time. Another reason is in doing advertisements we would have to set up more like a business than we really need to. For all of us this is a hobby. We do this in our free time and like to do this kind of stuff. Those two reasons is what we've always used for people saying why don't you do ads. I think it's pretty commendable for a community that has been around as long as we have to not ever need to do ads and we believe it is also important to our players.
