Or you could get unlimited 3G and a calling plan that lets you call select numbers for free, then get google voice and set your google voice number as one of the numbers you call for free, now you have free SMS calling and all you have to pay for is 3G. Yes rooting pretty much makes you able to edit every aspect of your phone, but if you screw up the rooting process, the consequences can be fatal, for your phone.
