Indeed, I remember watching a documentary about a vent like device that sucks up a significant amount of toxins in the air and filters it. It's only about the size of a mansion chimney at the moment but people are working to make it as large as a electricity plant to place near and around cities. I just hope the creators get enough funding and support for that to actually happen. Back to topic, Extraterrestrials exist, there really isn't a reason not to. If life could survive (as single cells) on a shithole like Earth during the Hadean eon then I really see no reason it can't a couple of millions light years away. With favorable conditions life could develop easily in our universe, unless it develops around a red giant star, then it's screwed.

What I really meant in my post was that searching will slow us down to the point where we won't even be around anymore. It's very likely that if we as humans continue to grow the way we are currently we won't really last for another couple Millenniums and wasting time on less important things like astrobiology won't be helpful to us.

Heh I remember talking to my friend about how extraterrestrial life may end up being our end. Besides, I don't know why people get so worked up over finding life on another planet when we should focus on preserving our own. Besides, who cares if we find life on another planet. If it isn't intelligent at all it will not benefit us as human beings at all. The most logical way to actually find life in my opinion is to abandon all projects looking for it and expand our exploration technology so we could actually develop enough to start searching for it beyond our Solar System. Even better, we could start developing some technologies because the Earth's non regenerable resources are running out quickly, our population is exceeding, and the Earth is growing more hostile (in habitability) and more alike Venus' every couple hundred years. I'm not really saying we're wasting our money and time on these things, but I'm saying that we have more important issues and interests to deal with. This of course is a interesting topic, but not a major important one. I'm not proud to say it, but I love astronomy

1. Plug it in your actual headset 2. Plug the pink cord in the microphone slot/hole 3. Open up your sound card/ speaker control panel and see if "Microphone" is checked. It usually is for Realtek 4.
