There must be dust in your computer. You don't really need to take out anything, just get an air can and blow away any dust you see in your computer.
I noticed one time that when it was computer cleaning day that when I opened up my computer literary dust poofed out in the air and all my problems suddenly disappeared.
I've been using Logitech G5 for a year now (had to replace it once for the newer one for teh lulz) and it's response time, accuracy, and the fact that it is so comfortable that you can go on gaming marathons with this beast will keep me going with it for another half decade.
It should be about 40 bucks now.
I'd recommend an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX because it is not as much of a power hog as a GTX280 and it's getting lower in price too.
All I need to know is the W of your PSU and I'll link you a right 8800.
Remember children, if your PSU is crap it won't matter what your Mobo supports slot wise because the GPU will most likely fail on you too.
