Well Lux, I have to agree with some things and disagree with others, naturally. For the screaming lyrics, I listen to screaming songs that I can understand. Nothing like Bring Me The Horizon and Suicide Silence. Metal, conversely, is often not catchy and made to scare and offend most people (most metalheads will tell you it's to "safeguard" the music from pousers). It's about speed, technical ability and song structure. Metal bands are usually judge almost exclusively on their ability to play fast and well. The "cookie monster" lyrics don't come from the throat like typical screams, but rather from right above the belt and the pitch is controlled in the throat. As for the instrumental aspect of things, metal guitar usually has a "chugging" sound to it, cause by downward strumming exclusively (because it sounds "heavier"). The first guitarist I can personally remember using this style is Kerry King from Slayer, but there might of been guitarist before him; They also use alternate picking in solos. The sound of guitars vary though from genre to genre; It's either down strumming or high pitch "screaming" guitars though. Also, most guitars are tuned in "C" standard. Drumming is usually extremely fast and features a lot of double-bass drumming and blast beats. You can't really hear the bass. I would make one that didn't involve the use of skills. You actually have to click to do the attacks and a sequence of clicks and other buttons do special attacks specific to your character. Insane customization so nothing is exactly alike. Create your own armor and can add things to it, including stats, and change the appearance a little bit. Awesome PvP and equally good PvE. Shit for RPers and other things like that. Not to mention good classes and graphics.
