  1. I DO NOT recommend going to this site for help on getting PC parts that you WILL NOT use for overclocking. Most parts recommended on this site are made to overclock. If you wish to use a PC that stays at stock settings, you should consult elsewhere as most of these parts perform poorly at stock settings, and most products there are specifically targeted towards the overclocking population. If you are thinking of building your own PC at this current time, I recommend taking these tips: ATi Graphics cards are currently a generation further than most nvidia cards, even if your nvidia fanboyism kicks in, tell it to shut up. ATI GPUs are the things to buy RIGHT NOW. Even their budget cards and high-end ones are a better buy. Buying new CPU? Make sure to think of what price range you want and how far you want to go. the i7 six core cpus that are 9 series are a definite NO BUY. these CPUs run a socket that will no longer be advanced upon. 1156 socket is the way to go. or the AM3, most tech experts however, think that the AM3 socket will be burned out within the next few years for AMD is going to need to refresh their hardware to keep up with Intel standards. However, the budget CPUs are a buy. Phenom II X4 955 is a must buy for the budget user! Buying a NCI card? DON'T. Most motherboards with built in network capabilities work just fine. Buying DDR2 is currently a recommended no-no. They cost an extremely high amount of money. This is because people are trying to phase DDR2 chips out and sell DDR3. DDR3 is used by any new socket, ranging frmo AM3 to 1156 to 1366. Don't skimp on power supplies, don't skimp on heatsinks. Want to get SATA 6GB/s? Don't bother. Get SATA 3GB/s. SSDs are currently a DEFINITE NONO. DO NOT BUY SOLID STATE DRIVERS. I REPEAT, DO. NOT. BUY. SOLID. STATE. DRIVES. Seriously, don't buy SSDs. Their software and hardware is currently extremely buggy and you will suffer data lose along with poor performance compared to current HDD standards, don't get reeled into new tech hype. Most times it's buggy, and broken. Wait until the dust settles. Don't listen to anyone who had the one case of X part breaking so they must be a shitty manufacturer. Most cases it's case of defective bunch. However, here is a list of manufacturers to definitely buy from: CPU: Intel AMD GPU: MSI EVGA BFG Pretty much any company. PSU: Corsair Cases: Raidmax (These cases are not actually that good, but they work for budget) Antec (extremely well air flow, a must) COOLER MASTERS (same as antec, but even better. these are the best high end cases you will find, if you have the cash BUY THEM) HDD: Western Digital Motherboard: Gigabyte Anything but ASUS really, or Foxconn. Soundcards: Realtek. Anything really, but from experience Realtek works great! RAM: This is a tough one... Corsair G.SKILL (i don't really recommend these. but if you don't want Corsair, this is really the only other option that isn't as shitty as competitors like Crucial or OCZ) But really, I can't stress this enough. DON'T BUY SOLID STATE DRIVES.
  2. Laptops aren't made for gaming. If you see them being labeled as such, just walk right past the product, all laptops overheat easily due to poor airflow and manufacturer parts. They are made to downsize and should never be used for more than a couple of hours at best for web browsing. Gaming laptops end up being a bad purchase. They are not easily upgradable so when you end up paying $1000 for a laptop you are generally not able to upgrade said computer and your piece of hardware ends up becoming outdated in a little more than 2 years. NEVER buy a gaming laptop. There's a reason we use desktops, it's because they are cheap to make, have good airflow, allow you to customize what you want in a PC, and can be maintained to be able to keep up with hardware specifications for atleast 4-5 years without having to upgrade every part simultaneously. Either way, even if you think you are on the go 24/7 (you never really are, are you?), a "gaming" laptop is a bad choice to play games port-ably on. Maybe just buy a DSi or something?

  10. Firefox has incognito aswell, but i have a gripe with chrome on one thing you cant auto delete browsing history on exit, i really loved this one in Firefox. I hope there is a good addon that can do it (click&clean blows dick)
  11. Hi not everyone has a bottomless pit of cash to afford DDR3, or the CPUs that use it, or the motherboards that use it.
  12. TF2 Shitty FPS

The Steam Forums have been through this wayyyyyy too many times, tf2's updates don't cause performance issues. I have a little worse specs than him (q6600 2.40, 8800gt) and i just played tf2 today and it ran as fine as it ever does

Chrome has all of the same extensions as Mozilla does, and those extensions were out Day 1 of the google chrome addons site launching, in a years time, I'm sure every Firefox addon will be ported to Chrome.
  15. TF2 Shitty FPS

Okay, have you recently done anything with your system? Like adding new hardware? Also you should try verifying your game cache, then defragging it.
  16. this post can be taken out of context very easily
  17. if you flamed it means you are a homophobe
  18. TF2 Shitty FPS

    specs
  19. Monitor

It should depend on your graphics card as well, you don't want to match a 1920x1080 screen with a 8800gt. Your FPS would be SHIT.
  20. CS:S Server

He's trying to start a server rebellion KILL IT WITH FIRE. are you trying to play that one racer gamemode?
  21. 15$/mo and then you have to buy the legit game, you can't mod your game either, and I am certain they don't allow custom skins to be downloaded from servers. In 3 years you'll have $500 or something, well enough to get a very decent gaming computer that could play Crysis. just because it's been in development for so long does not make it great.
  22. thanks i try real hard
  23. All cheery about the HTML5, you use Firefox? Okay, well, you can use HTML5, but you can't use h.264. Here's the problem; h.264 licensing costs a good amount, from what I've heard, it's like 5m$. yeah, well, whats h.264 mean for HTML5? HTML5 relies on two video codecs, h.264, and ogg vorbis. So what's the problem? Youtube might not use ogg. Meaning that Firefox can't use Youtube once HTML5 becomes mainstream, the only real browsers will be Safari, IE, and Chrome, why? Because they have monies. Google and Apple are also part of the MPEG-LA group that holds rights for H.264. Mozilla is too small of a company to afford getting h.264, even their president said that they cant afford it. There are only two things left for Firefox to hope; HTML5 isn't the shit, or that OGG comes to youtube. Now sure, youtube isnt everything, but it's certainly a lot, isn't it? I mean would you honestly use Firefox if you had to use out-dated software with it? It's sad, because this was the most subtle backstab by Google and Apple, the main supporters of HTML5. They're going to kill every small time browser out there. Now, will it happen soon? No, but it will happen without ogg support, or free h.264 rights (that will never happen). Really, without OGG on youtube, firefox is fucking fucked.
