Budget? need a cooler for the cpu too?

Not too extreme but I have an alright job.

I have a cooler for an i5 3570k currently and it does the job, would that be sufficient?

We need a budget to be able to know what were working with, what's cheap to you might not be what you are looking for. Would let's say 400$ be good or would you like to spend lower/more?

@Delirium @Fuze @Chaoz`

Would this be a good upgrade?

i5 7600k - Upgrade from i5 3570k

Z270P Motherboard - Upgrade from an Asus P8Z77-V (OLD af)

RAM

and will it work with GTX 970, my current cooler and SSDs

Comes to £417.12 in total

That is a good upgrade. With those parts the only thing you are gonna have to upgrade in the next 2-3 years is the video card.

Also, with that it will be simple for you to overclock that up to a good 4.0 ghz and you'll be able to get a bit more speed out of it.

Curious on thoughts from @Chaoz' and @Delirium but from my end you should be good with that.

It's a good upgrade. But I'd still go with the Ryzen system, tbh.

I wouldn't go with an Intel system, atm. Intel is bringing out a new cpu and chipset based on socket 1151 real soon. Intel is also bringing out a completely new socket aswell at the end of the year.

You get 2 more cores, 3x the number of threads, more L3 cache and better multi-thread support. That 1600 is a lot better choice price/performance wise than Intel. Advice coming from and Intel fan.

Are you saying that AMD is the way to go right now? When did this happen and why wasn't there a billboard about it??
