  1. I find it difficult to believe that there is any sort of correlation between lengthening the time before one can play CT vs. the chance someone freekills. The 25 minutes are there so people can learn the rules and then join CT if they so choose. If players decide to join the server to freekill they'll wait out whatever time limit is imposed. There needs to be a balance between new players learning the rules and players looking for an opportunity to mass freekill, hence the 25 minutes. There's already been a huge discussion about this previously which I invite you to look at. At the moment the 25 minute ban isn't working which is why there are more freekillers than normal. Admins have been instructed to only move players if they are causing an issue and to not manually place a 25 minute CT ban on players as it leaves a record. When no admins are online you can make a player complaint or !calladmin
  2. lamborghini aventador modded so theres 20 exhaust pipes that shoot flames onto a grill so you can grill chicken, NoS like in fast and the furious so i can fly, baby seat in the back because safety first, tesla seats, cup holders, oh and also costco coupons
  3. When you link a video it creates a ~640px x 390px render of the video so you can play it from the forums. There's a limit of up to 5 videos per post to limit how long a post can be. Having ~100 videos would make scrolling obnoxious on spam central... could you imagine having to scroll through all that? You can spam within reason but you can't make the forums unreadable. To link more than 5 videos without the rendering appearing, just paste it as a hyperlink. :]
  4. You can turn up the volume by using voice_scale to turn up/down the volume of players Besides that, asking CTs to repeat orders is probably going to get annoying and lead to people abusing it. You should be in-game at the start of rounds to listen to orders. If no one is able to understand the order then it shouldn't be enforced.
  5. SG App

TBH a site should be mobile-friendly if not mobile-first... the new forums would probably solve this which would remove the need for an app.
  6. The problem with that is that is that map-made deathgames tend to be fair and skill-based (think colors, jumprope, bhop, etc), hence why they're allowed to be forced at 2:30 because all Ts have an equal chance of surviving. Player-enforced deathgames can be unfair (what did I have for dinner, fish in a barrel, etc.) and it's BS to be forced to die without any chance of surviving.
  7. Kept getting asked by players over the past month on how long they have left on their CT bans. Seems worth to link the site Nishok made publicly as opposed to keeping it hidden in the SA channel. Shouldn't be hard to add a hyperlink on the top of https://www.steam-gamers.net/sourcebans/ and add a link somewhere in the Jailbreak section .
  8. Just noticed that there's no x-ray option for spectators on JB or MG. TTT already has this enabled. Main use of this would be for easier identification of wallhackers. Didn't check ZE but I doubt WH is a big problem on the server. Thanks .
  9. We don't have enough new players to entertain a second server with only new players allowed. The idea is that new players get to play with old players to learn the rules, learn about the nuances, and learn how to deal with certain situations. Having a new player-only server sounds terrible to admin TBH as it would require a lot of hand holding on part of admins. Interesting idea though.
  10. 1. There's scouts littered across the map for you to scope in and check the trees 2. If you see/hear shooting from up there you know someone is up there 3. It's a common spot at this point and many people are aware of it 4. There is a risk of missing the top of the tree and dying on the way down How is it OP O_o

  14. Always dreamt of being a commercial pilot but the stress, hectic work schedule, and responsibility was way too much for me to fathom. Ended up deciding to pursue CS.
  15. The only reason would be to prevent players from attempting to trick admins by creating some combination of turn binds + whatever commands were listed above by Creten + Kyle. If this isn't a big enough issue then fair enough, I have no idea of what amount of resources it'd used on the dedi as Fuze mentioned. EDIT: After talking to Kyle on what he did to get banned it's pretty clear turn binds weren't a big factor in tricking admins. This thread can be closed thanks for everyone's input
  16. I stand corrected... then block those commands on TTT/JB/scrim? I'm confused why there's any defense for this. I still don't see any legitimate reason behind allowing it when it's only for building up speed, of which can't be done on those servers. TY for clarifying as well @Kyle, again IDK what was done to trick admins but AFAIK turn binds were used in conjunction with something else.
  17. Again, we've established that it is useful in terms of building up speed on bhop/mg/surf, but what about servers like TTT/JB/scrim? At this point, the main goal of blocking it is to prevent binds from being used to trick admins.
  18. Fair enough, and we've established that earlier in the thread as well. Is there any argument against blocking it on TTT/JB/scrim where it isn't required?
  19. Fair enough, sounds like it makes sense. I guess my only criticism that's nagging me is that it doesn't seem "vanilla", but if it's really that useful and other people agree then meh. My idea just seemed like an easy way to tackle people abusing turn binds to look like they're hacking + using AFK scripts, but yeah.
  20. I understand the difference, but to me because I don't have any experience with using those binds in bhop/surf I don't see any value in allowing them. Any reason why use of it greatly impacts the player experience vs. just going without and strafing normally?
  21. I'm a little confused by this - feel free to explain more because I haven't done anything like this so I'm not sure what prespeed/whatever other movement binds do. Shouldn't movement be vanilla like the rest of the gamemode? If use of +left increases speed through strafing (my assumption), why is that allowed? Hyperscrolling/scripting by binding commands/keys together is against the rules because it provides movement advantages that aren't intended by the game. Furthermore, one has to go out of their way to bind +left to a key... it doesn't seem that it's intended for these binds to be used vs. other players who don't have it binded. Regardless, if it really is that important on mg/surf/bhop for reasons of building up speed, perhaps this can be limited to servers like TTT/JB/scrim where there absolutely is no reason why it should be allowed.
  22. A lot of people use these for turn binds, anti-afk binds, + other things to confuse admins. I don't see any legitimate reason to allow it on the servers. Looks like it's been done before as well: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=132310&page=2. Not sure if it's compatible with our current setup since it's a couple of years old.
  23. The idea is that this would only be used if an admin catches someone rdming, stops them via ban/punishment, and then restores the health of everyone the person ever touched during that round, regardless of what role you were or whether it was RDM or not. People will always complain when commands like this are implemented, which is why we have clear distinctions on when to use certain commands. For example, !fkrespawn can only be used in instances of mass FK, and not for singular FK's. Similarly, my suggested !restorehealth can only be used in instance of mass RDM, where people who weren't killed but were still damaged can get their health restored and continue the round. It wouldn't matter if Ts "abused" this or tried to trick admins into restoring people's health back because the idea is that the command can only be used once an admin determines that someone has indeed mass RDM'd. Good points though... those could definitely be flaws.
