the crazy thing is that it turns out if you use an ancient Logitech optic mouse from their first generation of optic mice on a cloth mousepad for a decade it will polish the bottom to the point that it tracks better than my Lachesis (only at low speeds) and is too old to have stupid features.

I would say Lachesis. Im using one, it tracks perfectly and is of the large layout that I like. I prefer the symmetrical nature of ambidextrous mice. my mouse has given me no problems in the last 2 years.

the mamba is also a hybrid in two senses of the word. the new one uses both optical and laser tracking and can be wired or wireless. the only trouble its the stupid price.

damn. speakers are quite possible the hardest thing in the world to shop for. I recommend hearing anything you plan on buying in person first as so much of it is subjective. Speakers are also the only thing I know of that can range in price from $30 to $100,000. I personalty would recommend finding a cheap as hell 90s stereo receiver and used speakers to do this if you are using it for multiple things and presumably you like the ability to have insane power output. Thats what I did. However, I recognize that thats probably not what you had in mind. The only other thing I can say is that Amazon is your friend when it comes to audio, used receivers (that work) are kick ass, and research audio stuff on audio sites not PC sites if you want the best sound quality. sorry im not much help here but I only have experience with complete shit speakers and high end speakers (none of that middle ground). its entirely possible to do this. you have to go to set a connection to share and then create a new incoming connection. I use it for my 3DS.

I recently got a new laptop 2.1ghz i7, 4Gb 1600mhz DDR3, GT555m. unfortunately for me thats a downgrade from my old desktop *facepalm* but yeah love razer mice. i have the first gen lachesis.

if you go with a separate mic then go for the SR80i they are lightweight but pack extremely high sound quality.

if you join they US army they will let you use their simulator. its so good you will swear its like you were actually shipped off to Afghanistan ;)

Amazon always has headphones much cheaper than listed. other than that there is http://us.akg.com/akg-product-detail-us/ghs-1.html. i cant vouch for that model but overall AKG is a well respected brand and once again they also make professional mic/headphones. p.s. Logitech headphones are shit. i have had 4 sets and all of them failed in under a year and sounded like shit right off the bat. one last thought for my 2 cents is that if you dont need a mic these http://www.gradolabs.com/page_headphones.php?item=ec27f1750be96023333af0dfe546af44 are by far the best headphones you can get for your price range. They are what I use and I absolutely assure you they are the best sub-$200 headphones you will ever use. Hell they keep up with the $350 sennheisers from the early 2000s.

the wires do work with each other

so i decided to take an old speaker from inside a PC and an POS set of earbuds and take the wire and adapter from the earbuds and attach them to the speaker. now the trouble is that the speaker of course has only two wires but the earbuds are stereo and have 4 wires. what wires do i attach and where and do i need all 4 or just 3 (it seems to work with just 3). help i have no clue what im doing at this point!
