1) A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."

EDIT:

2) What goes up and down the stairs without moving?

3) What can you catch but not throw?

4) What goes around the world but stays in a corner?

5) What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?

6) I never was, am always to be,

No one ever saw me, nor ever will,

And yet I am the confidence of all

To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball.

What am I?

7) From the beginning of eternity

To the end of time and space

To the beginning of every end

And the end of every place.

What am I?

8) Weight in my belly,

Trees on my back,

Nails in my ribs,

Feet do I lack.

What am I?

EDIT: On second thoughts, I can't be bothered, I'll just end it here and then.

The answer is "No, I can't guess the riddle," or "Yes, but my guess wouldn't be right."

The question itself is the last line. In riddles, any sentences before the question are just prior knowledge to know, and not necessarily needed in answering the question.

Also, interesting fact:

97% of Harvard students can't answer it.

84% of Kindergarten kids can.

Why? Because the kids hear the last line and shake their head. This is more to do with human psychology and the ways we try and act better than we are.

Now, pelase, some decent ones? I don't want to have to read through a long one that's circulating around the Internet at light speed due to idiots reciting it.

Already answered it, the answer to that riddle is Time, it's from a poem.

whoops yes on 7, no to 4 and 2. 1 is supposed to be:

A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."

The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.

In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?
