I know most sloths (if not all) are endangered species. You may be able to get one as a pet, but you would probably be getting one stolen from the wild, even if you get a baby. I doubt anyone is breeding them in captivity to be pets.

You should also consider weather or not you have access to a vet that knows anything about sloth care and if you have the money and knowledge to properly care for one.

But as most people do, you could just get one and not worry about any of that stuff because...

you WANT one! And isn't that what is really important?
