upload is a bit slow today, normally around 3-4 megs this is the speed to our servers during mid day washington DC levels of internet traffic (so bad)

the name you are using is taken if that is the message you are getting, change your vent user name and make sure the vent password underneath the server info is empty as well

right click on your desktop and go to properties (or control panel then display properties,) then go to tab desktop and hit the customize desktop button then a new window opens that has a web tab, hit that tab, then turn that off. that should remove it . also if you have an option to show active desktop turn that off active desktop is treated as a webpage.

50 cal is also used as long range anti personnel weaponry, as far back as m2 machine gun goes, so yes 50 cal rounds can and are used for that role. is it overkill? probably, but when you can reliably reach out to a mile or more to hit targets, i dont see why it wouldnt be used. the US navy used 50 cals to snipe the hijackers/pirates holding those crewmen back on good friday of last year.

there is a civie version of the steyer AUG bullpup. which is a very nice gun. bit on the pricey side as well though. worth checking into though for an older design but very reliable.

Unfortunately SM is no more "secure" then Mani, its security holes are jsut in different locations. and since SM requires metamod, if you know how to mess with metamod you can bypass sourcemod all together. we run an interesting mix of admin mods, and they are highly tweaked and patched to cut out a vast majority of the issues inherent in the mods individually.

qos is quality of service, it changes how the router prioritizes data coming in and going out, if you are using QOS and are not on the QOS list it can severely degrade your gaming. upnp is universal plug and play. which just says that the router and the various networked computers all can set themselves up mostly without you doing any individual work from say a mac to a pc or a xp or vista or 07 system all on the same network. upnp doesnt always configure correctly, so worth a check. If your router is on the fritz, put it up on something off he floor or carpet, if it overheats, it slows way down, or fails entirely, and propping it up for better airflow came make a very big difference.

have you done a verify the integrity of your local content? sounds like you have progra issues that verifying "should" fix

Apparently some clarification is in order, if you reveal an admin who is undercover its generally reported, action may not be taken, but the higherups are informed of your dick move, and if it continues, the board at any time may choose to revoke your admin, or your ability to use ma_admins. While we use a strike system there have been cases when we are a donation only site (as we are now) of simply turning it off if you annoy enough bd's. Also for those of you who are apprentice admins, that sort of action may leave you in Apprentice purgatory for an extended time, or just get you booted out of the program. undercover admins deserve their privacy, be it for simply wanting to play, or because they are undercover trying to keep the servers clean. its not a poll or an open vote, its a matter of respecting the decisions of your fellow admins, or respecting that a higherup wants to be incognito for w/e reason they see fit. If you cannot do that, then you are not a good fit here. revealing an admin falls under disrespecting admins and the community, while we choose to let it slide most of the time, the community of higherups are closer knit, and don't generally appreciate having their jobs made harder. Tbh I am not amused in the slightest that people don't seem to grasp that basic of a principle. Are you allowed to be abused off the bat? no. Will a higher up screw with you to drive the point home? Probably not at first. Revealing an admin might just get you into hot water you really don't ever want to be in. Trust me, most of the long term admins all don't appreciate you annoying them, and if bored , might spend all kinds of time following you around and demoing you for every damn cough sneeze or slipup you make. they are happy to put you under a microscope until you get the idea. You all have access to admin only chat, use it.
