see if you could possibly get a laptop or something remotely portable, plug a ethernet cable into the router and see if the packet drop continues even with being on LAN. I'm thinking this could be something interfering with your router. And if not this might just be an ISP issue.

LoL is a MOBA, a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. Saying it's an MMO is like saying MW2 is a MMOFPS because they both have unlocks. IIRC MW2 uses P2P, MW3 will, and a good portion of Xbox Live games just might use it (though apparently it's debated a lot. which i have no idea why since microsoft could just give a fucking yes/no answer) though bringing up p2p as an alternative way to playing online is considered taboo among pc gamers i guess

which is just another reason why p2p outs dedicated servers. no cost and much easier to find players. and cost wasn't the point i was making at all- those dedicated servers spend probably what... 200 pounds of co2 emissions a year. doesn't matter if someone's paying for them or not. iwnet tried using VAC. VAC is really best used on a source engine based game and there aren't a lot of games that manage to use VAC successfully. I personally prefer punkbuster regardless because its a bit more forgiving, is instant banning, and also it tells you why you were banned. also there are a few great games that use p2p and work fine... league of legends is a great example.

because p2p is the actual future of gaming. dedicated servers are going to become outdated. they use too much power and for what? is every single cs:s server filled up? no. and it will never be. but with p2p it's completely efficient. there's no need to boot up a dedicated server and consume 300 watts of power. not to mention p2p gaming is what's going to SAVE torrenting. they won't be able to throttle peer technology if it's used by 30% of all video games. ISPs would lose thousands of consumers. obviously p2p has it's downsides (ie no more server mods like the ones we have) but hopefully some games will maintain both functionality. there's over 1000 servers that are empty in cs:s, with the most useful purpose of the servers is polluting.
