  1. I completely disagree with this. Will post more at the bottom. Will post more at the bottom. Admins getting worked up over people complaining in PB is a bit ridiculous, in my opinion. Literally - just sit there and say you didn't see it. If they get obnoxious / overly rude, warn / kick / ban. You guys (meaning admins in general) that insert yourself into every player's drama is so farfetched to me because you're creating an environment for yourself that's toxic, annoying, and just not fun after a certain amount of time. I want to be absolutely clear with this: If you get upset, worked up, annoyed, (insert any other synonym here), etc. by people complaining to you about being freekilled, you should probably not play prison break. It isn't because I think any of you are bad admins, don't follow protocol, or whatever, it's because there is no rule change I could ever create to get rid of that. People will always complain about being free killed, no matter what. There is nothing I can do to help as far as this specific situation goes. I also want to say this: I implore admins who say PB is chaotic to message me when they join the server. I will come along with you and you can see exactly how I sit back and play the server while still maintaining a relative admin presence when shit gets really out of hand. For the life of me, 'players being mean and complaining' is just something I can't understand as a valid reason. You guys have an entire admin menu at your disposal. Someone being obnoxious and spamming they were free killed? "Hey dude, I didn't see it, just chill out." Player keeps going? Mute. Wait a round. Unmute. Keeps going? Kick. Keeps going? Ban. A lot of people being annoying? sm_mute @all for a round. Please message me when you get on so I can witness what you guys are claiming and possibly make suggestions on how to deal with it. I would love for everyone to enjoy PB, but if you truly do not enjoy it because of the players complaining - just don't play. That is not something I can write away with the stroke of a keyboard, and I have never claimed to be able to do that.
  2. The sheer amount of people mic spamming almost every time I am ever in ZE is far more obnoxious than someone complaining about how they were freekilled.
  3. Note: "you" in my following post doesn't mention anyone in particular, just in general. I actually agree with the majority of the points brought up in this post, and even made explicitly obvious what I find to be an issue. When I go on PB, oftentimes I find an SA+ enforcing something ridiculous, to which I step in and tell them to cool it or that they are in the wrong. I don't blame SA's for anything in particular, I'm just saying I have noticed admins in general stepping a bit too far over the line in terms of administrating. Now, onto freekilling...does an admin have the right to punish someone for a single freekill that the player apologized for? Well, sure. Is it always the best decision to slay them anyways? Not always. It's extremely rare for me to slay people for a first time free kill, unless it is just painfully fucking obvious the dude is being a dick on purpose. If it's a new player or just an accident, why slay the person - especially if they apologized for doing it? I don't step in and tell admins how to handle a situation like this because they are completely well within their rights to slay a person for any type of free kill...I just think it's a bit ridiculous sometimes what I see. I legitimately don't get where people are saying PB is chaotic or crazy. ZE is a fucking madhouse compared to PB, in my opinion. If people complain to you to punish somebody for freekilling, why jump into a situation that you didn't witness and spend 2 rounds going back and forth asking what happened? Just take it with a grain of salt and watch the person to see if he does anything. Don't get so worked up about having to answer to every single complaint everyone has. Another thing that boggles my mind recently is ratio control. Admins get SO bent out of shape when the ratio is even slightly geared towards CT favor. How many times have I ever witnessed an admin forcing someone to go CT because there are too many T's? Never. Not once in the entire time I have played here at SG - and I used to LIVE on PB the way some of you do today. I would get home from school and play lila panic, PB, or scrim for about 5-8 hours a day almost. Admins get so worked up about the slightest possibility of there being one too many CT's. The server constantly has people joining and disconnecting, which just looks stupid for you to switch players constantly. If the ratio is 20 CT's and 4 T's then sure, by all means, fix that. 10 CT's and 20 T's is not, remotely, in the slightest, AT ALL, something to get beint out of shape over and switch players for. 95% of the time the ratio will fix itself. This is also something I plan on addressing at the meeting.

  6. http://www.elitereaders.com/4-reasons-never-order-steak-well-done/ https://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/tldr-steak-answer.jpg https://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/science-steak-answer.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ How I cook my steak: 5h_y3svpNiw Sous Vide @ 129.5 degrees then blow torched to form a crust. If you guys have never had a sous vide steak, you are missing out on an extremely good steak. I personally will never, ever cook a steak any other way from now on. You can control the exact temperature you want your steak at, so it will NEVER be overcooked. There is no other form of cooking that exists that allows you to have pin-point accuracy on temperature the way sous vide does. Even in an oven, heat does not evenly disperse as most people tend to think. You can drop a steak in there for however the fuck long you want, and it's not going to overcook. Obviously you will lose moisture if it sits there for hours and hours and hours, and below 140 degrees is the danger zone if left too long. But I will throw a filet into a bag with the marinade I make, vacuum the bag (air makes the bag float to the surface), and just walk away from it for 45 minutes. If I have an errand to run I can just leave it in there for a few hours and it's just fine. If I want to have it ready for me when I get off work, I put the steak in an ice bath, and a few hours before I am off work I connect to my precision cooker through an app and turn it on. Once I pull it out, I blowtorch the outside of it to form a light crust. The best analogy I got when I was going through culinary training was to make steak just like pussy - completely pink but completely hot. It's not even just steak - meats, drinks, desserts, vegetables, etc. can all be done it it. It is, by far, worth the money & is possibly the greatest culinary invention geared towards average households...next to the crock pot. A big thing to bear in mind as well is that everything you know about food temperatures is probably wrong if you use sous vide. Because the entire part of your food is being cooked CONSISTENTLY at one exact temperature, it is vastly different than putting it in an oven, on a grill, on a stove, etc. 129.5 degrees on a steak sounds disgustingly rare, but it isn't. 'Rare' is typically defined as "...a cool, pink center...". Stick your hand into 129.5 degree water and tell me if you think that is cool. The water is entirely around the bag, so the entire steak is cooking at the same exact time, versus putting it onto a grill where one side is cooked, then the other, etc. The penetration of the heat can be vastly different depending on how you cook it. A big thing people usually hear is to always cook chicken to 165 degrees. I cook chicken at about 150 degrees sous vide and it is completely, completely fine. I could even go down to about 145 and still be 'safe', I'm just not really a fan of the texture at 145. https://www.amazon.com/Anova-Culinary-PCB-120US-K1-Bluetooth-Precision/dp/B00UKPBXM4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482573560&sr=8-1&keywords=anova+cooker

  9. iPhone

G3 & Note 5. G3 had a removable battery and external memory. External memory is great - but the iPhone I have already has 256gb...so don't really need external memory anymore, so I don't consider that a 'plus' anymore that Android did hold over iPhone years ago. The removable battery on the G3 was great...up until a few months later when they stopped producing them and stores stopped selling them. My battery randomly shit itself and my phone wouldn't turn back on. I checked every possible store in the region, including stores that are dedicated battery stores - no one sold the battery. I would have had to wait several days for a battery to get sent and would have been without a phone that time...which isn't possible while being in the military. I needed my phone on 24/7 in case one of my Marines needed me. The G3 did have an incredibly slick look though when the special case from LG was on it. It had a circle cutout on the top that would display a super cool looking analog clock.
  10. iPhone

I can use my phone for well over a day without charging it, whereas I could not do that with either of my androids. Both dead within 6 hours of doing nothing. While I do greatly enjoy the ability to access files on an Android, (easily) replaceable batteries & extra storage aren't on every android phone - I couldn't do either on my Note.
  11. i fed a dog tacos and the board decided to ransack the forums and teamspeak, like the band of rapscallions they are
  12. Really? Jesus being black is harder to believe than the motherfucker becoming a zombie?
  13. Apple V Android

I lied. My first android was an LG G3. Great phone with awesome (the best at the time) picture and video capabilities. It was actually incredibly cool because the front case was like a horizontal flap that, when closed, had a circle in the middle that made the phone display a really neat, old fashioned clock. It was very clean looking. The phone started to shit the bed after about a year or so, and the battery actually had been fucked up somehow, but not from physical damage. Because the G4 had already came out by this time, nobody carried G3 batteries. I checked everywhere, even local battery stores. I needed a phone immediately, because I needed my phone always on in case my junior Marines needed to reach me for some reason. I got a Note 5 after. Great phone, once again, for the first 9-12 months. Started running super slow and flat out ridiculous. I did everything, including a restore. I love, love, love android the first 9 months. The capabilities of what you are allowed to do are vastly superior to the iphone...but the iPhone is much more stable. Hell, I still have my old 3GS, and it still boots, runs, etc, no problem. I wanted Android to take this second chance and redeem itself - I really, really did. I don't even do dumb shit on my phone, so I have no idea why they all shit the bed with Android. So now I have a 7+. Also got an iPad to take with me when I fly planes - there is a pretty nifty app only on the apple store that allows you to plan flights, get airport info, etc.

  15. Hello everyone, Just wanted to give you all a quick, official update that we have increased our goal to $300 monthly. We have switched over to a physical dedi, and while this will give us a performance boost, it is costlier to run. $300 a month will keep us afloat and allow us to provide raffles to the community on a regular basis. If we keep falling short of the goal, we will probably have to do away with the nicer-item raffles. Thank you all for your patience with us during the switch and for your continued support in moving the community forward.
  16. I have sausage party, conjuring 2, and lights out if anyone wants them.
