all i gotta say is if you wear it in your car all alone you kinda fucking dumb. To answer your question i don't mind wearing masks i have to wear them to my highschool everyday i'm there. The only problem i have with them is is i can sometimes have acne flare ups and sometimes smell my fucking breath it sucks ass when that happens. EIther way i don't have a problem wearing them when told to but i don't bow down to it and kiss it goodnight. Surgical masks are my favorite by far.

Why do people get so irrationally angry about this. These people have been doing fine without a mask for their whole lives, and I'm sure they don't see some new flu-tier virus as challenging that. Don't want to be bothered by these 'idiots'? Take off work, collect your stimulus or whatever unemployment/benefits you can and order all your food/groceries from home. Don't have the means or money for that? Looks like natural selection is taking it's course.

Seriously, having this much irrational fear about something means you're either A) old as hell B) incredibly unhealthy or C) very easily influenced by media headlines. Do your research and get over your germ theory. Go outside and live a little.

I’m not mad that they don’t wear a mask they live their life in their own way but putting others at risk who are A) old as hell and B) incredibly unhealthy that’s where it crosses the line. If you don’t like the mask take your own advice and take off work, collect your stimulus check, or whatever unemployment benefits and order your groceries from home. I’ve seen first hand multiple times people that are infected by others because they don’t respect others.

Wearing masks aren’t the best, but it’s a necessary precaution that myself and others should do to keep one another healthy and prevent spreading the virus so eventually we can live a somewhat happy and enjoyable life that doesn’t require missing out on fun social activities.

The masks are there to protect other people from you. My grandmother lives with me and many other people have grandparent(s) living with them. If I were to go out and live a little I would either cause the death of my grandma or some person's grandparent. My grandmother's brother died because he was exposed to COVID and a lot of people I know have relatives that have died as well. I wouldn't say the fear is irrational if there are people dying around you.

24,000 to 62,000 people died from the Flu during the 2019-2020 flu season which started on October 1st, 2019 and ended on April 4th, 2020.

In 2018 to 2019, an estimated 34k people died from Influenza.

So far, an estimated 253,000 people died from COVID-19 according to the CDC.

I don't want to kill my parents, grandparents, my girlfriend's mom that is at risk, or anybody else that is susceptible. COVID sucked when I went through it and I got it fairly easy compared to others. I didn't lose my taste but I did end up losing 10 pounds. Other people lost their taste and smell for extended periods of time and had it for much longer than me.

+1 for posting death tolls of a virus without a vaccine vs those of one with. Next time do yourself a favor in credibility and post the survival rate. I'll do you the favor and share that the mortality rate of COVID-19 is somewhere about 2% or lower, considerably lower for healthy adults with no outstanding respiratory illnesses. So yes, somewhere about flu-tier.

It's very easy to point the finger at 'thise idiots that don't wear masks', but who's to stop them from pointing the finger at 'thise morons who brought the damn thing over on flights' or them to point the finger at 'those retards in china that let the damn thing out of the lab'. We live in a world where we have so little control over the things going on around us. Pointing fingers and trying to hold someone else accountable at every conceivable circumstance quite literally gets you nowhere. If you aren't doing everything in your power to prevent yourself from catching the disease or spreading it to others (and you're not), who are you to judge the level that people are comfortable with engaging with this pandemic and holding themselves accountable for their own safety? (You can start by swapping out those comfortable cloth masks we all love with something that doesn't shoot your nasty breath out of the sides and actually does some form of micro filtering)

This isn't a country where you're legally obligated to be responsible for the well-being of others. If you're talking ethically, sure, but once again, imposing your own ethics on others gets you nowhere. The blame game stops when adopt any sort of personal responsibility. If I get the virus, it is MY fault, not the fault of some weirdo on the street the didn't even know he had the thing. You have literally had since January (almost a whole year) to start banking moolah and flipping assets so you can hole yourself up at home and take yourself out of the picture. Why haven't you? My guess is because you've weighed the risks and compromised your own well-being to do whatever you want: welcome to the club.

If your dream society is where everyone is legally obligated to the well-being of others and in turn these 'idiots' get locked up, you best start saving up to move. Personally I'd shoot for Scandinavia, but I'm sure Britain, China, maybe Venezuela also fit the bill.

To be quite frank, I can't stand wearing a mask since it's ridiculously hard for me to breathe due to my adenoids being removed, I am basically forced to breathe through my mouth and I eventually start to eat my own hot air but it's a small price to pay for a good cause. I'd rather wear it and keep the people around me safe since the state I live in and specifically the area has seen a lot of Covid-19 cases, a record high and I'm really grateful that I haven't gotten it personally. Without this mask there's a 99.99% chance I would've had it. I can't bear the thought of giving people the virus especially someone's loved ones, quit being stupid and just put your mask on to protect others and don't be selfish, seriously man...

I wear a mask, and have no issue wearing a mask.

Not because I love wearing it, but because I believe in the CDC and their stance that they help reduce the spread of germs as it contains them to yourself.

It's also required in many states to wear one when in public.. and I'm not a type of person who likes confrontation if I don't follow a rule, so I just wear it. It's being polite and respectful to others around me.

My dad hated masks, and he needs to be constantly reminded to wear it properly. I honestly hate being associated in public with anyone who doesn't wear a mask properly. Just gives me unnecessary anxiety.

One of my co-workers is like this too.

Fun fact, I travel t many states due to the nature of my work. About 3 weeks ago a co-worker went to a job in Texas and ended up getting covid. The other week I went down to the same job he was at and also got covid.

Although we were wearing masks as it's our company policy (as well as state guidelines) many people In that business we were working at did not wear

masks. And at that point it's a strange issue of how do we as a company respectfully ask and make sure others comply? It's tricky.

My work also consists of working on construction sites(indoors) no one ever wears masks on these construction sites.

So there's that...

This, but unironically.

The social contract does not extend beyond the government; anyone who thinks it does is a Lennon tier dreamer. Forfeiting your own freedoms for no reason other than 'its the right thing to do' or for some arbitrary morality doesn't mean everyone else has to automagically do the same.
