In light of discussing new ways to improve the community and make some changes around here, it's been discovered we lack the extra funds to support all the changes. We barely make the donation goal every month, and the donations that exceed the donation goal go towards the months we don't quite make it. We need your help to fund some of the future changes we would like to make here at SG. We are asking if any of you can spare any amount of money to help support SG and fund changes to forums, ranks, rank perks, servers, and more it would be greatly appreciated. Any amount helps, and we understand not everyone has money to donate after the holidays. We do not normally request donations from the community, but with donations only covering server/website costs, we could use the extra donations to afford the other things we need to improve the community and make it an overall more fun place to game for everyone. Transferring a banlist from Vent to TS3 is just a matter of ctrl+a then ctrl+c in Vent's banlist file, then ctrl+v in TS3's banlist file. They run basically the same if I recall correctly. I imagine this is the same for Admin lists, if not, it's just a matter of AO's being active in the new TS3 to set everyone up. I agree the features and software in TeamSpeak now heavily outweigh Ventrilo's, the quality is far better now and that's the main incentive for it. I would be willing to help BD's set up the TeamSpeak if that's an issue.

Where can you get dedicated server files? And how many resources does it use up? BoM said he was looking into how difficult it would be to set one of these up. I understand the Christmas maps weren't the best maps, but it was Christmas Gungame so we stuck with them best we could. Bread told me he's got a new maplist and everything ready to continue Gungame without the Christmas so hopefully people will still play it.

Whenever I play with Angel I don't even notice she's on the server. Not sure what you guys are seeing as attention whore unless you're specifically paying attention to them to begin with.

An idea to make rounds last longer if that's an issue is require more than one kill with each weapon. Two kills would double the time it takes to get to 25.

Inclined to agree with Beagle. Round based would give an advantage to those players who are higher skilled than others, having it DM makes it a bit more fair to those who are not as "skilled" at aiming to still get kills and level up.

Spawn protection increased to 5 seconds from 3 seconds to try and alleviate the hardcore spawn camping that keeps occurring.

We were having a problem where mapvote wouldn't finish before someone won. (If they win fast) To try and help resolve this, I reduced the countdown time to 5 seconds from 15 seconds, and you only have 10 seconds to pick a map. Hopefully no one will get a nade+a knife in 15 seconds. Please let me know here if it should be slower.

A large majority of people want to apply when they only really know one or two Admins closely. This is a major issue that should probably be addressed in some way. I have recommended a few people that I felt were good for Admin, only to find out that they had no contact with pretty much any other Admin other than myself. They felt since they had my recommendation they were good to go which isn't the case. You should honestly be able to get over 5 recommendations easily if you are expected to get Admin. That's 5 guaranteed people that will say you'd make a good Admin so I don't know why you wouldn't try and get as many recommendations as you can. If you are struggling to get more than 2-3 recommendations, you should probably get to know more Admins or ask how to improve. One thing that used to help people get noticed was an active Ventrilo, which we will be working on ways to get it populated again. This way people can join and start chatting up Admins or what have you and get noticed a bit better. People need to recognize that since it's a community vote, you need to find a way to get noticed without being a nuisance. This is ranging from doing Player Complaints, actively being in Vent even if no one is there when you join, playing in a variety of servers, or just adding Admins you see and reporting anyone breaking the rules to them. If you slip by everyday going fairly unnoticed, I don't know why you would expect to get Admin. If no one knows you, no one can say whether or not you'd make a good Admin. No one is going to be given a blind chance with Admin here, unlike other communities, our Admins are given several powers that normally in some other communities you need to earn through ranks to get.

In addition to process changes like how you receive Admin, we will be making some minor aesthetic changes as well. Such examples can be seen in RiverBoat's signature, where it has been implemented for the past two weeks.

My only question would be why you are friends with someone, but are unwilling to tell them if you think they would be a good Admin or not? I mean I guess I understand not everyone can be mean, but honesty should be part of any friendship. In the end, you could always just not have a say on it if you wanted.
