Without the support of every community member, we would not be where we are today. As has been mentioned countless times, every single person - from member, to SA, all the way up to PO has a stake in keeping us alive and thriving, and goddamn we're doing just that. We can't make an anniversary thread without thanking the people that started this place all those years ago. Recently, we've seen quite a spike in our server population. As a result, our servers are quickly climbing the global rankings, with ZE comfortably surfing in the top 20 globally for CS:GO servers. Not far behind, however, are MG, TTT and PB. Since they're doing so well, we have a competition to announce: the race to the top! Starting TODAY, we're having an official race to see which of MG, PB and TTT can crack the top 175 in global ranks. Right now, they're pretty close (and are overtaking each other rapidly), so it's anybody's guess to how it goes. Here's where YOU come in: we're going to let each one of you pick a server to "represent", and from there join the official server team to DUKE IT OUT! ( Starting ranks: 863 - 605 - 687 ) The Team Challenge On the forums, follow these steps to join Team MG, Team TTT, or Team PB: (Guests: Please make a forum account to participate!) 1. Go to the User CP screen (click the gear at the top right of the page) 2. Click "General Settings" on the left 3. At the bottom of the page, there will be a dropdown labelled "Team". Select your team! ** Team selections will be locked in after the first two weeks. Afterwards, you will not be able to switch - so choose carefully! ** From there, you'll get: - A special contest rank bar and access to the team group, where you can coordinate population for your server and make suggestion for the higher ups on your team to help with! Your team group is also the place for any questions about the contest. Teams will be tracked on the forums primarily, though there might be a steam group to join as well. What you can WIN To honor the winners of this competition - that is, the FIRST server team to break 175, will be entered into a draw to win a bunch of cool prizes. This includes: WEAPON SKINS RAFFLE AND STORE POINTS SUBSCRIBER PRIZES, AND STEAM MERCHANDISE! And don't worry, the other two won't leave empty handed. Sorry about you guys not being able to play today, I managed to change the map remotely from sitecheck as wawa could not (he now fixed the map, good work wawa). As for the plugins we're looking into getting a server plugin that routinely resets the server during non-peak hours to prevent these issues from happening. We'll let everyone know of progress on this. Thanks again for posting

If you were to find the term “genre-hopper” in the dictionary, there would without a doubt be a picture of Beck alongside it, most probably with an acoustic guitar and synthesizer. Known for widely-encompassing forays into folk, soul, alternative rock, and psychedelia, Beck has seemingly done everything since his 90s debut. With the 2014 release of Morning Phase, however, another layer has somehow been added to his ever-expanding musical mosaic. Harkening back to the 2002 album Sea Change, Beck presents us with a lush and expansive album set as a story with innumerable references to genres that he has previously experimented with. As we traverse through the track listing, it begins to feel that we have joined him on a journey, trekking through the darkness of the night into the eponymous “morning phase”. The themes of death and revisiting the past are especially prevalent, and as we begin through the phase of reminiscence of a not-so-distant dark past, the use of reverb, echo and synths along with open-sounding lyrics and vocal harmony in “Blue Moon” beckons us forth into a coming storm. Through the ultimate emotional low point of the album, “Wave”, one can almost feel the orchestra’s ebb and flow along with Beck’s vocals, entrancing the listener into hypnosis. To the end, one can feel ascension through the darkness, with more emphasis on strong backbeat and vocals, accompanied by positive melodies as seen in “Unforgiven” and “Blackbird Chain”. Overall, Morning Phase succeeds in many ways and falls down in others: it is a deft showcase of Beck’s variety in genre, as well as his mastery of vocals and sound production along with the underlying symbolisms that appear throughout. However, unlike in Sea Change though we experience bits and pieces of emotion in certain parts (notably “Wave” and “Blackbird Chain”), it seems like Beck is more disconnected from his message, as opposed to his shift in musical composition through Sea Change. Nonetheless, one thing is clear – we see a clear re-entry of Beck the singer-songwriter in Morning Phase, rather than just a featurette in a mashup of synth-tracks: the lyrics are personal, thought-provoking and truly showcase how Beck’s talent is not locked into one category or genre of sound.

We had already tried an apprentice program years ago and it didn't really pan out to be honest. The current system for admin is good as it gives requirements for people to be active in the community first, and there are controls in place to ensure if any abuse happens it'll be dealt with.
