  1. Out of curiosity: is your hamster Jewish?
  2. Congrats gents!
  3. I have an insane amount of memories on TS, having used it at SG for nearly 5 years. The only reason I can really say it's "better" is just because of how familiar it was. I never noticed the difference in voice quality between the two until ~20 people were screaming simultaneously in a Discord channel, but hearing them clearly wouldn't have helped much in deciphering what they were saying anyway. Discord's look is much better and cleaner to me, which is a big reason I enjoy it. As far as the switch for the community, I think it's inevitable as TS will most likely get left in the past by everyone at some point in favor of Discord. One of the most disheartening things was going on Jailbreak and advertising a Jailbreak community meeting happening on TS then getting blasted for still using TS and being told no one was gonna come, but it was definitely a reality check on where things were headed.
  4. So let's redirect this thread towards the idea that seemed to have a lot of support at the community meeting earlier today. The idea being referenced is dropping everyone down to one rank, as opposed to the previous two or the current three. The name and color is up in the air, as you could really use any of the current three names / colors, however let's stick to the concept itself. It would be a primary rank, not a secondary one. If you ended up wanting to return to admin, you'd apply for it and you would no longer have your recognition rank if you were to get accepted. This would be one of the simplest ways of going about this. We recognize that not everyone was able to attend the meeting, so we encourage everyone to post how they feel about this idea here.
  5. You should be good now.
  6. Discord Changelog

6/5/20 - Restricted overflow access to capped channels to IA+ - Fixed Veterans being able to join voice channels under "General Chat" - Fixed being able to see voice channels for other games without the role - Added new server invite background and banner (thank you @nesquik) - Created #server-list and moved list of servers there - Edited #rules-and-info to include links to all of our socials - Added private voice channels. (thank you @Benzene, @Mikey, @Bacon) People allowed to create them are Subs, VIPs and Nitro Boosters. To create one, just join the "Join To Create" channel under the category and you'll instantly have one. The commands for the bot should be used in #pc-commands and are as follows: More to come.
  7. Comment at 4:07pm redacted.
  8. The server came out a very long time ago and a million and one things have changed since, but from now on we'll log changes here.
  9. Closing TS

Hello everyone, As you can see by the title, we're officially closing TeamSpeak. This discussion came up a couple of months ago and we asked for the community's input on the topic. To everyone who commented on it, we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts. While we recognize there was quite a bit of retaliation against the idea, we, the Board, think it's in the community's best interest moving forward that we move everyone over to Discord. We believe the benefits of the move will far outweigh the difficulty of seeing it go. Since the discussion first came up, we've been working tirelessly to better the server as a whole. We've made major strides and we think the server both looks and functions much better than it did previously. However, we also recognize that there's lots to be done. We have many plans of our own, but we're also hoping that this will prompt you all to come forward with suggestions to help us out further. Over the next few weeks I have no doubt that many questions, suggestions and comments will be rolling in about the server. Myself and others will be working hard to tend to all of these. Once again, we appreciate you all for chiming in when we asked for your opinions. Now, we're looking for you to share your opinions on the server and give us feedback. We've created a Discord section similar to what all of the other servers have. As you can see if you click here, there is already a bug reporting thread. You can use this section to post any suggestions you have, big or small. Thanks guys.
  10. Please report any bugs you encounter on the Discord here. Providing as much detail as possible is highly appreciated.
  11. Yooooo, we're back. These promotions are pretty exciting, if I do say so myself. First up, we have a couple new dudes joining us on the Marketing Team! Both of these people have shown promising abilities that we believe will be effective in pushing our community forward. Additionally, both have done extremely well in their current positions here. Tyymunk and Greggy G are our newest additions to this team! We have a new Community Advisor joining us! This guy has been here in a higher-up position before and he's now returning to help out again. His work previously left us with complete faith in his ability to perform in a position like this, so promoting him was an easy choice. Ned is returning to our ranks! Next up, we're promoting a second Administrative Manager! This person is currently one of our most senior server managers and has displayed skills that will undoubtedly lead the Administrative Team in the right direction. Greggy G will be holding this position alongside Cept! Lastly, we're introducing a new rank. The Internal Affairs team hasn't had a manager as of yet. To increase the efficiency of the team and oversee its members, we've decided to introduce one. Our Internal Affairs Manager will oversee the team as any other manager does and will help us decide on promotions and handle any demotions. Additionally, they'll work to lead the discussions the team has and will be in charge of making sure all complaints, disputes, etc. are handled. The person we've chosen to hold this new rank is a longtime community member and has shown his abilities as a higher-up both in the past and now. His work in his current manager spot and on the IA team recently have stood out tremendously and we have the utmost confidence in his ability to take on this new responsibility. BoM will now lead this team! Congratulations everyone!
  12. Congrats, gentlemen.
  13. This is outrageous. I reached out on multiple occasions about my interest in Events Manager and I was pumping out 3 events a week.. and I get this? I've been working my ass off for months for this opportunity and finally this dumbass John leaves the spot and I didn't get promoted.. are you for real? I'm MEANT to lead this team; I was born for it. Rectify this mistake immediately. Congrats gents.
  14. Hey everyone, We have some very interesting promotions to announce today! First, we have a couple new Community Advisors joining us! These two people have been putting in a lot of time and effort recently and are evidently very dedicated to this place. Their continued activity and passion has earned them a spot in this new role. Joining the team today, we have Chad. and Disparity! Next up, we a new member of our Internal Affairs team. This person already holds a couple higher-up positions and they've been doing extremely good work thus far. They've clearly shown that they're ready to take on a more prominent role in the community through their actions. Infinityward is our newest addition to this team. Lastly, we have some extremely important promotions to announce. Promoting people to our Board is uncommon, but promoting two people at the same time is extremely rare. To our Board of Directors, we have two very promising promotions. These two people hold various ranks in the community and occupy multiple higher-up ranks each. The amount of time both of these people have poured into bettering this community is extraordinary and hard to come by. We're extremely pleased to be bringing them on board (get it) and we're excited for them to help us move the community forward. Your newest Directors are fantastic and John! Congratulations everyone!

Their activity in discussion about community issues has shown us that they're ready to move up. BoM is our newest addition to this rank. Congratulations everyone!
  16. If conversions are on the table, let's convert TTT into a second Jailbreak server, that shit blows.
  17. Yes, you can use common sense when playing as a CT. If I'm playing on vipinthemix and I'm walking away from the cells and get shot by a USP, I can reasonably turn around and go gun down the T in the USP cell if there's only one T in there, because I know that's the only USP spawn. Utilizing common sense is fine for the most part, so long as it actually makes sense and there's no possibility for the T to make a reasonable argument against you. The ladder in the garage is the one that goes up to the secret, right? In that case, yes, there's no other use for the ladder besides trying to get to a secret, so it's KOS. Ladders are classified dependent on what they connect to.
  18. The discussion in the CA section regarding awards is about combining and removing some. The discussion has been going for two weeks so far, not months. The complete removal of awards as a whole is not happening, nor has it even been put on the table. When we think we need the community to chime in on something, we reach out, so if that becomes the case we will do so. As of right now that isn't the plan though. The recent backlash regarding the LG change is unfortunate, but doesn't create an argument for having open, public discussions about everything. If something gets changed that you don't agree with, you can obviously make a thread about it despite whether or not we end up going to the public.
  19. We're currently in talks about awards as a whole and playtime awards are being looked into. The discussion hasn't neared it's completion yet, but we'll hopefully know what we're going to do soon. Once that's done, we'll circle back to this and release that thread depending on if that's still what we want to do.
  20. The Board is still in talks about potential changes and the system will probably end up being revamped in some way. However, we're swamped with some other projects that we're hoping to close out soon and it's unfortunately taking a bit longer due to 3/5 of the Board members being essential workers. We'll get back to you guys as soon as we can, feel free to continue posting.
  21. Hello everyone, Today we're doing a joint announcement, as we've agreed upon a recipient for both the Staff and the Member of the Month awards for April. All of you members are doing great things, the debate for the winner this month had tons of names in the pool and it was tough deciding. We encourage you all to keep up the great work and truly appreciate the effort you guys put into the community. The staff portion was even tougher, you're all working so hard and we're at one of those points where all of our staff teams are flooded with plenty of qualified people, all busting their asses for this place. Again, we truly appreciate the work you guys put in, trust me when I tell you we recognize it. Now into these awards, starting with Member of the Month. This person has been very active recently, especially in the past month. Not only is their server activity great, on the forums they're constantly helping out by chiming in on suggestions, reporting bugs, and overall being very beneficial with their posts. We're all very pleased, not only with the effort this person has been putting in, but with the consistency they've shown. There's not much else to say besides the fact that this person is a fantastic member. Congratulations to @EpicFP for being Member of the Month for April! Next up is our Staff of the Month! The fact that this person has gone above and beyond is undeniable and extremely evident. Their impact on our servers has been immensely helpful. Their activity, input on discussions and constant events has helped our Zombie Escape server out in drastic times. The passion and dedication they've shown for moving this place forward has caught everyone's eye as they've been relentless in their pursuit to assist in any way possible. This person has not only been a great staff member, but also a great community member. Congratulations to @Bright for being Staff of the Month for April! Once again, thank you to everyone for contributing to this community's continued prosperity, staff member or not. While we're publicly recognizing these two people, there are tons of you who help out here daily and we are insanely grateful for each and every action taken to better this place. Thank you all. Please join me in congratulating these two!
  22. Two new communities have joined in as sponsors, as shown on the contest page. With these additions, the prizes have increased. They are now as follows: 1st Place - $400 2nd Place - $225 3rd Place - $110 4th Place - $85 5th Place - $60 The original post has been updated to reflect these changes. This is a whole lot of cash up for grabs, and a whole lot of time before the contest ends. If you don't know how to map, now might be a good time to learn. If you do know how, I'm hoping to see some fine gentlemen from our community take home some cash. Good luck to everyone once again.
  23. Some Stuff

Very sorry to hear about your grandparents. I truly hope you feel better soon. It's generic, but I know how much small comments like that can mean in times like those, even from a stranger on the internet. Jealousy is a normal thing and I think a lot of us have felt jealous when we didn't get promotions. I actually planned on stepping down at one point because I had sat at CA for so long. The same thing happened when I was trying to get admin, but now I'm grateful that I got it when I did, because I probably wouldn't fucked up and embarrassed myself if I got it any sooner. No one will ever be able to stress enough how important it is to reach out to people for advice on how to get where you want to be here. It's easy, and it works. Take as much time as you need, I hope things start looking up.
  24. Hello everyone, A year ago, we collaborated with some other communities to sponsor a MiniGames mapping contest, hosted by Gamebanana. Today, we're doing the same thing. However, now we have more communities involved, more cash prizes, and this time the contest is for Jailbreak! The task is to create an original Jailbreak map that's fun to play, looks good and has plenty of quality activities. The prizes are as follows: 1st Place - $400 2nd Place - $225 3rd Place - $110 4th Place - $85 5th Place - $60 All the details about how judging works, the rules, etc. is on the official contest page that can be found here or by clicking on the banner at the top of this post. The deadline for the contest is August 2nd. We're very excited to be collaborating with Gamebanana and these other communities to bring this contest to you and we hope to see some cool, new Jailbreak maps as a result! Good luck!
  25. The previous system was already completely subjective and was sometimes a slap in the face to some people. Some server managers resigned and only got HG when a lot of others got LG. Some people who only made it up to CA got LG based on other factors, while most CAs were given HG. Any system you implement will leave some people hurt by what type of recognition they receive. If you wanted everyone to be happy, you'd just make one rank that all previous staff fall into despite performance, attitude, etc. The amount of ranks you have to recognize someone is totally arbitrary. The previous two might've made sense, the current three might make more. I think it definitely makes it easier to classify people as the gap between certain people in the old LG rank was so large. (ex. a person who created / ran the community vs. a person who did a decent job managing a server for some time) There could still be a gap between certain people in certain ranks, but you'll never get it down entirely. You could make it super specific and implement ten ranks with even more detailed parameters for earning them, or you could make it super simple and do one rank like I mentioned earlier. There's not really a right way to do it.
