  1. Sorry for a late response to this thread. The Events Team talked about this event along with events involving the Nintendo Switch. The consensus was events like these don't really yield enough participants to justify hosting an event for it. If you're interested in playing with SG members on Switch games feel free to add them, but we likely won't have one of these events in the near future unless something changes. Thanks for the suggestion!
  2. I don’t think this event would work for a few reasons - Too much like a deathmatch (way too easy to kill each other) - Speed would make it more chaotic - Would be way too easy to RDM and admins would have trouble monitoring the event I talked to the TTT ATs and the events team and we don’t feel like we’re going to make an event like this soon. Chances are you’ll be seeing events more focused around themes/maps as opposed to game mechanics. I’m going to go ahead and reject this, but I appreciate the suggestion.
  3. Funny you bring up a TTT version of this event. It was the first event idea I ever suggested a few years ago. For TTT events we aren't really looking towards anything altering the gamemode itself. It would be too much work and we want the gamemode to be the focus of any event. That is what shut down my idea last time and I know the Events Team and the TTT ATs are not looking to make any events like this due to the aforementioned reasons. Ever since joining the team I've been working with others on gathering ideas for some TTT events for you guys as we've been lacking them for a while. They won't be as complicated as events like Protect the President but we hope they'll be enjoyable nonetheless. I'm close to getting one of these events finalized and announced so stayed tuned for that.

  11. Bump, the event is tomorrow. Spread the word!
  12. Not everything is about balancing the game. Bringing in variety just to keep the game refreshing is also important to me. I look for balance within the items themselves. It's balanced, I said why in OP. If it is unbalanced you can alter some of the changes, but scrapping the idea wouldn't be my first step.
  13. Hope your grandfather feels better and hope to see you back soon.
  14. I don't get how it's a waste of time. Introducing a new item doesn't sound like a waste of time to me, especially considering very few maps already have it and it wouldn't be much work. Don't want people to get in the mindset of "it's a waste of time" for something as simple as going through a handful of maps and removing a gun. We did it for the MP5 too. The goal isn't to buff the traitors. I think the balance right now is relatively fair. It's just to give a new option to shake things up. Adding new items makes the game more complex, interesting, and fun. I do think the weapon should be buffed whether that be damage, hold speed, recoil, or another stat. Put it up there in terms of strength with the other T weapons.
  15. What Is BombParty? BombParty is a multiplayer game which tests your ability to think of words on the spot. At the start of the game, each player is given 3 hearts. One player is given a string of letters and has to type a word which contains that string of letters. If they are able to come up with a word with the string of letters in it, the turn goes to the next person. If they are unable to do so, the bomb explodes, they lose a heart, and the next person takes their turn. Once you lose all 3 hearts you will be eliminated. Last player standing wins! When? Friday, May 15 @ 8:00 PM EST Where? The game will be played on this website and a lobby will be created for the event. We will also be hosting this event through our Discord in the events channel. Click the Discord icon below to join the Steam-Gamers Discord. Thanks @Clamor for the banner! Also thanks @Creten for the event suggestion! While you are here you might as well join our steam group!

  22. Bump! Event starts in an hour!
  23. I want to preface this by saying I understand a lot of focus is going towards balancing current items. However, I'm hoping this idea wouldn't be too hard to implement and could provide us with some refreshing variety as the T menu has not changed in a long time. I've been messing around with ideas involving a weapon specifically designed to target groups. Currently we have the AWP for long range quick kills and the M4A1-S for silent kills. We don't have a weapon to counter groups. I understand we have the C4, but it is fairly ineffective. Jihad is the most effective, but you also die. I want an item, specifically a gun, that is sort of the opposite of those items, where it is more effective at clearing groups but comes with a high risk of getting caught with, unlike the C4, and without guaranteed death, unlike the Jihad. I've messed around with ideas such as an RPG as options for this proposed item, but a lot of these would likely be hard to implement into the game. I think a better way to approach this idea would be utilizing a weapon already in CS:GO: the Negev. The Negev would make a lot of sense as a powerful machinegun weapon. It's not really being used much on the server yet it would only require slight modifications to it. I might be wrong, but I think its possible to alter a single weapon's stats. If this is possible, I would adjust the following: 1. Significantly increase the damage of the Negev. 2. Slightly increase the speed when holding the Negev. If these values can be altered, they would make the Negev much more powerful than it already is. A few other changes would need to be made if this were to be implemented: 1. Negev would need to be removed from the handful of maps that actually have them, such as nukehouse and minecraftcity. 2. Negev would become a KOS item under the rules. If all of this could be reasonably done then I think it would be a great traitor weapon to have. The strengths of the weapon would include its damage and ability to kill large groups. As a trade-off, the weapon is sort of slow and loud so it would be easy to get caught with one. Seems like a fair item to me. All in all I think the Negev has potential to become an item to provide us with a new and exciting option as a traitor. I'm looking forward to hear what everyone else thinks about this idea. EDIT: If the value changes wouldn't be possible, I think the idea still could be used. I can explain why in further detail if this is the case.
