  1. At this point I'm kind of leaning towards removing it altogether to be honest. However, I'll propose an idea. If it's possible and is done, we can entertain it staying on. First island is below second island on the actual map. If someone pulls first island up to second island, scraps the portals and just makes a bridge across from first to second island, it'll be better imo. It'll most likely drastically change the way CTs play because they can keep a watch of the Ts even without having to go through the portal and they won't be scared to go to second island. If it can be done and someone does it, we can add it.
  2. Kyle has been banned for a week for purposely misleading admins and players. Two of his alts were already permanently banned off the servers for a similar reason and he was issued a warning at the same time. Coming on accounts with privated profiles, default pictures, etc. and doing impractical stuff to make yourself look suspicious ends up wasting our time as higher ups when we have to check IPs, deal with the false bans and complaints, and so on. We're done dealing with it and won't tolerate it any longer.
  3. I can't honestly sit here and say that I haven't witnessed first hand how this map has killed off the population. However, that doesn't make seeing this removal request any less weird. This version of clouds is the 9th most played map on the server with the previous version of clouds being the 8th. While I can attest to the fact that as of recently it has killed the server, I can't say it's been like that forever. This map used to make the server thrive. I believe it's a shift in the style of play that the CTs have adapted and I think it has a lot to do with the way the map is set up. It seems as though quite a few people are in favor of its removal and I would also personally lean towards that option. Please vote or post if you haven't already though.
  4. Gumline has been permanently banned for declaring himself the warden of the server after multiple warnings. It's permanent due to his history of bans. “One cannot step twice in the same river” – Heraclitus
  5. The JB staff doesn't feel as though anything really needs to be "fixed" here. While our server is definitely fast-paced, our rounds are already so short that it doesn't necessarily hurt when the last CT is being passive in response to being so outnumbered. Thank you for the suggestion though.
  6. Really great to see you both in the rank, congratulations.
  7. The exploit itself is fixed now thanks to our good friend @BoTo. EDIT: Fix taken off for a minor detail, please hold.
  8. There's no set ratios for each map. It depends on how the CTs are doing against the Ts and just generally how the admin wants the ratio to be. 1:2 is the ratio we normally follow but most of the time it's fine to have some extra CTs if they're losing a lot. Our ratio plugin keeps the ratio at 2:3 to keep it from getting out of control in favor of the CTs, but in general it's all situational and dependent on the admin.
  9. The map was removed because it was crashing the server. We can revisit the map to see if it's still causing these issues though. Will get to this sometime over the weekend.
  10. I haven't given the suggestion much thought in terms of how it'd play out, but I think it's a pretty smart idea. I don't think we should go around changing stuff just because the Ts have a big advantage right now, but I'd agree that they do. A lot of our maps have a ~80/20 (T/CT) win ratio and I think that's a little too one sided. I think it can use some more balancing, whether or not something like this would be a good route to take in doing that is up for discussion.
  11. Map looks really cool, the gameplay is great and it has a lot of activities. It's a good sized map for the size of our server. It also seems a bit more CT friendly and they might be able to win a bit more just based on a bit of testing and I actually like that about it. Added, thanks for the suggestion.
  12. The map looks really cool, but it crashes the server unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  13. The only immediate flaw for not adding this is how small it is. It won't be fitting for the 50 potential people we can have on at once. We're going to keep this in the reserves though, could be good for an event.
  14. The map is quite nice looking and I feel as though it fits the server's play style very well. However, there is a problem where if anyone has their flashlight (F) enabled, the textures mess up very badly. I'd be willing to entertain it at a later time if this were fixed. For now though, I'm going to mark this as rejected.
  15. Nice looking stream, i'll make sure i tune in when i get the chance and follow.

  17. Sorry about the delay on this. This'll be done tomorrow.
  18. I'm just pointing out the flaw behind the logic some people are using here and saying there's potential pros to having a server. I didn't dive into the cons and general problems with it. Who's going to pay for it? Who's going to run it? What type of server is it? Is the plan to bring in new people or just get a server for SG players? Questions like that are still completely worth asking before considering something like this, I was just mainly picking something out of this thread that I wanted to comment on.
  19. I just want to comment about how many times Minecraft has been tried out. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but it's my opinion on the attempts. I wasn't around for the first time, but I've been here for 2-3 tries at getting a server going. Each time the people "managing" the server seem to go in half-cocked and don't really go out of their way to engage with the community, get feedback and improve it. They've been sloppy, have been released before being fully fleshed out and seemed more like personal projects rather than community servers. There was no supervision and it was just "sponsored" in a way by the higher ups. Additionally, it's been gamemodes that can get boring very easily and don't offer many new things to do. Eventually if you play vanilla Minecraft for long enough you'll have done everything whereas with something like Factions, you get raided and have to start again. I think putting it off because of it's multiple attempts is silly if you actually analyze the attempts and the effort. Minecraft is still a huge game and it could bring current members closer to the community or even start to reach beyond our current community if players invite more players.
