Hi, Over the past few months I've been looking to start building my muscle and body up in general. Over summer, I was lazy and never got around to it . Since school is starting I thought since I already have to be productive that it's a good time to create a workout routine that I could use. I'm pretty skinny (14yo, 120lb between 5'6" and 5'7"), and I don't really know how or what to eat if I wanted to become healthy. There is a gym I can go to on my school campus after school so equipment isn't a problem for me. From the light research/browsing I've done online, I should start with stretching and then go into working out of all my body equally (dont flame me if this shit is wrong). To be honest, I don't know anything really about weights/how to workout all of my body equally so if anyone could help me, please do. Thanks.

To me, Necrophagist has to be the best death metal band out there. They've only had 2 albums yet I still listen to them almost every day because they're just that brutal. With both their albums coming out long ago, (1999 and 2004) they completely took the death metal scene by storm and influenced the whole genre. Even today I cannot find death metal bands who come close to this band in any way. Ignominious & Pale is definitely one of my favorite songs by them and I'm currently learning right now (just learning it not up to speed is hard enough...) so I have a long way to go. Yes, but only if it's for high quality M E T A L. Anyways, I have played guitar, bass, and drums for 5 years now. I took up saxophone about 2-3 years ago (don't seriously practice/play though) and I've played other small instruments here and there, (harmonica, ukelele, etc.). I mess around on piano to help me visualize music theory on guitar, but that's about it for the piano. Guitar is definitely my strong suit as I find it to be the most interesting and fun instrument. I don't know how far you've gotten with your violin skill @BandaBonium but I would definitely recommend learning more music theory and really start trying to apply it to really writing music. Understanding how chords work and what each symbol means and how it changes the chord/music can really help you with creating solo parts. If you are struggling with technically playing pieces, then that is just nonstop grinding your practice hours; You will get there eventually if you practice enough. Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm back. Within the Ruins - Phenomena God, I'm listening to this album/band for the first time and it's amazing. I first heard Enigma (on this album) and just had to look more into the band. I'm loving the djent technical deathcore sound and apparently every single track uses a different theme song from movies/games/etc. (need to look into this more). Enigma uses the Super Mario Bros. theme song and it's just fucking sick! Maybe this will be a new favorite band for me, I'm sure the album will be.

@Wawa glad you're a metalhead. System of a Down - System of a Down. I first played "War?" on bass for a show about 3 years ago and felt an adrenaline rush when I played, there was just so much energy flowing through the song and band. One and a half years pass and I find myself listening to System of a Down again. I listened to System of a Down 95% of the time for 8 months and can name any of their songs. This album is by far the best album by them, and I'm still waiting for their next album... hopefully. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJP_VVqzoiU Slipknot - Slipknot. I found Slipknot after System of a Down, and it was like nothing I've heard before. Their first album portrays pure anger through the vocals and raw audio, a mix I still have never heard from any other band. Every single song on this album is a personal favorite for me. Thank god there's a new album coming out next year, but The Grey Chapter (last album) wasn't very good and I'm pretty sure it will be their last. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef6tg0tFAyo Megadeth - Rust in Peace. Ah, the thrash genre. I've heard of most of the popular Metallica songs before but none of them ever really caught my attention (other than Master of Puppets). Megadeth takes thrash to a new level by creating more melodic riffs and they prove it on Rust in Peace. Everything on this album is just pure satisfaction for me. The Tornado of Souls solo by Marty Friedman really got me into this album; it still gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Megadeth > Metallica, Rust in Peace Nick Menza. Animals as Leaders - The Joy of Motion Animals as Leaders is the newest band I've been listening to, and their progressive metal/djent style has inspired me to become a better guitar player. This whole album features weird tapping from Tosin Abasi, interesting poly-rhythms from Matt Garstka, and great rhythm work from Javier Reyes. I can not explain to you the madness of this band, you just have to listen to them. You should especially check out their live performance of Physical Education if you enjoy this album. PS: Basically everything that Meshuggah and Necrophagist put out is good, so if you like metal you should check them out too.
