I really wish we'd ascend from the caveman tribal level way of looking at race as something of significance at all. I see it as a similar vein to when a celebrity comes out as gay, like who cares? If anyone actually wants a society where we prioritize qualifications over race/gender/etc. then we should just shut the fuck up about it. That goes from regular ass people all the way up to the president. How is this not by definition discrimination towards a white man who might be more qualified for the job than the next black woman in the line for competence? If anyone actually gave a shit about diversity they'd blindly pick whoever is in the most ideal position for the job. If you wanna say some ridiculous shit like "blindly picking the most qualified will mean you only pick white men because they have the least societal setbacks!!!", then maybe just don't enter this conversation at all because you've been wearing a blindfold for the past half a century.

I don't subscribe to this notion of servers being dead or alive based on the time of year. 2019 and 2020 had perfectly sustained populations on most of our CSGO servers year round. Seasons might affect population, but they are not a determining factor.

Maybe not a definitive ultimate solution, but to pretend like it hasn't worked in the past is straight up wrong. I mean, a few months back, ZE events were happening literally once a week and things were looking more than up. Even when events weren't happening, ZE still got 30-50 players on during discord @ seeding requests. As soon as a month went by with no events, ZE slowly faded and seeding jumpstarts stopped working. If it was a sudden and sharp drop, I'd agree with you, but the slow fade from that mini resurgence tells me a different story. I also feel like this goes without saying, but the idea that ZE/TTT/MG should be shut down is absurd and it's annoying that it's even brought up anymore. It's clear as day that the game modes themselves aren't dead because other community's versions are doing fine.

I mean, why not just do more events? Maybe I'm missing something but it seems painfully obvious that whenever some elbow grease is put in and events happen fairly often the population does super well. During ZE's mini resurgence, events were commonplace and were bringing people on who hadn't played SG in a long time. Even when there weren't events happening, during this time the population was still fairly stable because events kept things fresh and spiked the population. You wanna know why ZE died? We haven't had weekly or biweekly events in fucking months.

CSGOs minimum requirements haven't been updated since the stone age. Also, unlike Valve, Riot actually gives a shit, so that might also answer your question.
