  1. Masks...

+1 for posting death tolls of a virus without a vaccine vs those of one with. Next time do yourself a favor in credibility and post the survival rate. I'll do you the favor and share that the mortality rate of COVID-19 is somewhere about 2% or lower, considerably lower for healthy adults with no outstanding respiratory illnesses. So yes, somewhere about flu-tier. It's very easy to point the finger at 'thise idiots that don't wear masks', but who's to stop them from pointing the finger at 'thise morons who brought the damn thing over on flights' or them to point the finger at 'those retards in china that let the damn thing out of the lab'. We live in a world where we have so little control over the things going on around us. Pointing fingers and trying to hold someone else accountable at every conceivable circumstance quite literally gets you nowhere. If you aren't doing everything in your power to prevent yourself from catching the disease or spreading it to others (and you're not), who are you to judge the level that people are comfortable with engaging with this pandemic and holding themselves accountable for their own safety? (You can start by swapping out those comfortable cloth masks we all love with something that doesn't shoot your nasty breath out of the sides and actually does some form of micro filtering) This isn't a country where you're legally obligated to be responsible for the well-being of others. If you're talking ethically, sure, but once again, imposing your own ethics on others gets you nowhere. The blame game stops when adopt any sort of personal responsibility. If I get the virus, it is MY fault, not the fault of some weirdo on the street the didn't even know he had the thing. You have literally had since January (almost a whole year) to start banking moolah and flipping assets so you can hole yourself up at home and take yourself out of the picture. Why haven't you? My guess is because you've weighed the risks and compromised your own well-being to do whatever you want: welcome to the club. If your dream society is where everyone is legally obligated to the well-being of others and in turn these 'idiots' get locked up, you best start saving up to move. Personally I'd shoot for Scandinavia, but I'm sure Britain, China, maybe Venezuela also fit the bill.
  2. Masks...

Why do people get so irrationally angry about this. These people have been doing fine without a mask for their whole lives, and I'm sure they don't see some new flu-tier virus as challenging that. Don't want to be bothered by these 'idiots'? Take off work, collect your stimulus or whatever unemployment/benefits you can and order all your food/groceries from home. Don't have the means or money for that? Looks like natural selection is taking it's course. Seriously, having this much irrational fear about something means you're either A) old as hell B) incredibly unhealthy or C) very easily influenced by media headlines. Do your research and get over your germ theory. Go outside and live a little.
  3. Masks...

As someone who went to school in the boonies with a bunch of hicks, it was pretty common to see people not wearing masks inside, on and off campus. We had 3 cases over the entire semester so I don't think it made a huge difference anyways. The reasons people don't wear masks is the same reason people out there don't get vaccinated. Not because there's something inherently bad about them, but just that they have no issues being responsible for their own wellbeing and deciding how to keep themselves safe. In fact, this is a sentiment that almost everyone I've come in contact with shares inadvertently. If you leave your house when you don't absolutely need to, if you shop in instead of ordering, if you come within 6 feet of someone when you could just wait for them to pass by: you are spreading it, and making your own decision about your own wellbeing. To some people, it's just a necessary restriction to try to kick this virus, to others maybe it's some Orwellian precedence. Personally, I don't like breathing in my own hot exhaust fumes all day, but I do it because I work in the food industry.
  4. Sike, totally missed this. Drop ENTR coming through with high quality double shot PBT shine through keycaps attached to enthusiast level Halo True(tactile) or Gateron Yellow(linear) switches on a sturdy case, complete with per switch lighting (not RGB). All for just $90. I've not owned or held one of these, but if I only had $100 to spend on a pre-built, I'd cop one of these. https://drop.com/buy/drop-entr-mechanical-keyboard#overview
  5. The reason you don't see a lot of recommendations sub-$100 is because the keyboards in this category aren't all that different from one another and tend to be self evident in their features. Almost all keyboards in this category are going to have a somewhat cheap feeling plastic and steel construction with bone stock cherry, gateron or razer switches. If you're lucky, as steven mentioned, you can find one with nice keycaps. This doesn't mean you can't be happy with something in this price range or improve upon a cheaper board, but you're working with whatever's on the box. What layout are you looking for? RGB? Linear/Tactile? Do you like a specific brand? You get exactly what you pay for in this category so you don't have to be too picky as long as it checks all your boxes.
  6. Thanks to a recent sponsorship from the good people at Walmart, the TTT Team has been afforded the opportunity to offer you guys a server-wide sale on all Menu Items. Using code "KIERANBLOWS" at check out will give you 50% off all items in your cart until Midnight. We hope you guys enjoy the sale and keep a lookout for some special deals that may arrive throughout the day. Make use of these deals while supplies last, and remember: Save Money. Kill Better.

  8. Remembrance Day

  9. Holy shit Hypno contributing positively to a thread. I'll start with the AWP. The choice to have it purchase able at the start of the round was intentional. I don't think requiring kills or IDs is going to significantly balance it anyways. Taking away any more ammo would make it pretty weak as the majority of players are only able to get 2 kills on average before whiffing their shots or being killed. What I will say is that I'm not happy with the conditions for which it's KOS. I think it's very annoying that people can walk around with such a powerful T weapon that you almost can't see being used without tracers. We've had this discussion before and it's either gotta be KOS entirely or remain in the current state. I'd like to hear what you guys think about this. Bear in mind that the "reward" for innos killing a T and picking this up is usually 0-3 shots of an unsilenced AWP. As for the tripmines and hurt station, we deliberately tried to make these dirt cheap because nobody would use them. Yes, they can be fairly powerful if someone knows how to use them, but nobody does, either because they don't want to mess with finicky binds or just prefer sticking to whatever is easy and in meta. I'd consider adding a limit to trip mines if they get out of hand, but I really don't see that happening. As for haste rounds, I think it's pretty clear that they're working as intended: putting the pressure on Ts to act swiftly and keeping rounds from dragging. When these were first implemented, Ts would often end up with more time than they would in a normal round so we really pushed to get these challenging. I can understand how they can be more difficult on larger maps with more hiding spots so Kieran and I will look at increasing the multiplier for the round start time on haste rounds. Another outlandish idea I had for haste rounds was to make every round a haste round and disable kill punishments/bonuses. In effect this would just determine round time by the number of players, keeping low pop rounds from dragging for 5 minutes and giving traitors some extra wiggle room when the server's at capacity. I don't think many people people would be a fan of this, but feel free to share thoughts on it if you have any. Kieran and I are watching this conversation closely, as with any discussion, so continue to leave feedback on the topics if you feel passionately about them.
  10. Online school

Can't stress this enough. This doesn't just apply to online school. I've been a procrastinator my entire life and have mostly been able to slide through by the skin on my teeth. I'm in my junior year of college and just now started being proactive about my work and have never felt more stress-free and had this much free time. Later eventually turns to never, it's inevitable. Doing assignments last minute causes sloppy work and undue stress.
  11. Jesus dude, get a grip. Stop living you're life like you're in a movie and expecting people to just walk up and offer to be your friend. Don't base your perception and expectations off of a bunch of fictional books and shows. What have you done today - this week, to try and solve your own problems and better yourself. Go sit down at a lunch table with people and see what happens. Nobody's going to tell you to leave even if all you do the whole time is sit there silently or make cringey jokes. Chances are you'll find a conversation you can join in on.
  12. I believe this is what you're looking for. Thank me later fam. On the real tho, I've been eyeing the Steelseries Apex Pro. If you want to give a price point and switch preference, you could probably get some better recommendations. Leopold is better known for their Topre boards (not mechanical). If you're looking for a key board for gaming, this is one of the few instances where "Gaming" Keyboard actually means something. Lower profile case with shallower actuating switches is preferred by a lot of people. Any of the "speed" series switches will have shorter throws, and may be what you're looking for.
  13. Use that noggin no
  14. Most likely started around the time the HHKB and similar keyboards started blowing up. It was quickly adopted by "gamers" as it leaves loads more room for your mouse/mousepad; I had a tiny desk at the time which is one of the reasons I had gotten one. They're also popular in the keyboard community because they're insanely cheap to manufacture and have a somewhat universal tray mount design that lets you swap parts as you please. They make external numpads for those that can't give them up, but after spending time with the layout, it's not a huge issue. I recently switched from a 60% to 64% layout, getting my arrow keys back, but I still find myself using the shortcut for them instead of reaching over most times.
  15. This thing is so fire, I want a sound test
  16. The custom keyboard community has grown a lot recently, so I figure there's at least a few of you guys interested in it. Here's my recent budget build as I await my M-65B from RAMA. Excuse my terrible typing Case: Tofu60 PCB: DZ60v2 RGB Hotswap Switches: Gateron Ink Blacks Stabilizers: Durock Translucent Purple Lube: Krytox 205g0 Films: Deskeys Keycaps: PBT Heavy Industry
  17. I usually tend to meme on these, as do a lot of other people, but every one of these posts is people genuinely thanking you for the time and effort you've spent here. I've had very few interactions with you and can't say that I know you at all, but the amount of people you've left an impression on is inspiring to anyone here. Good luck on your future endeavors; your server will miss you dearly.
  18. If it weren't for Chad campaigning we wouldn't have all these great memes; the hero we deserve
  19. The most important part of self improvement is introspection. It can be difficult to get out of the mindset that you do everything right. Good luck and keep us posted
